My Locs have grown so much in the last 1-2 years and I thought to share here, things that I think really helped. I love writing about hair because it’s our crowing glory… no matter how it looks.  I decided a while ago to love my hair how it looked but I didn’t like the fact that I was putting so much effort into it but instead of flourishing, it was actually breaking off.  I also really really like the look of long hair, no matter how much I loved my afro, I desired to have naturally long hair now out of my scalp and now that it does, I won’t sit up about it. Hair also has a way of affecting our esteem, confidence and how we show up in the world. So very quickly here are things that I believe have helped my hair grow so much: TLDR …

I was tired of wigs and braids. I was tired of failed styles and just touching my hair. Cutting my hair was not an option because I already look younger than my age and going bald makes one look wayyyyy younger. The baldie look isn’t also for me. Relaxing my hair was also unappealing because of how fine and thin my hair is. I am not against relaxed hair. I just don’t like the sleek look on me. HOW!! One day I googled where to loc…

In this new phase of trying to take care of my hair, I’m looking back to see what I did right with my hair, what to continue to do and what to stop doing!!! Taking care of your Hair in a new location can be a chore. You don’t know if your hair will corporate with the weather or not, the accessibility of the products you like, hairstylists, Activities you will do, cos even some kind of WATER. Can be bad for your hair.  Well, I am not about to miss out of a great opportunity cos of my Hair!!! Whenever I’m going to travel locally or internationally, the things I do are: Research the place. What’s the weather there like? % of black people that live there, where will I be staying, activities I might get to do. Etc. Pack hair staples in mini bottles and try to find…
